Meet the growers, touch plants, DIG in.
It’s a free citywide event that invites the public to meet and engage with local growers, learn about their spaces, and find the freshest tastes and crispest smells Dallas’ local food system has to offer.

September 26 – October 17
Celebration and exploration of our local growing spaces
Launch Day: Kickoff at Good Local Market, Saturday September 26 9:00 am – 12 pm — watch a live vermicomposting demo and enter to win an indoor vermicomposting bin set of your own.
Finale Celebration: DIG Summit Satellite Event, Saturday October 17 9:30am – 11:30am, featuring author Bevin Cohen.
With dozens of ag sites open across the city, attendees can browse profiles online or pick up a printed guidebook to plan their route – a self-guided passport to Dallas’ growing spaces. Pick up your physical passport at Kickoff (or grab the digital version anytime), then visit sites and collect a stamp at each.
Our goal has always been simple: shine a light on the growers who shape our local food system. But we’re lucky to have a community that wants to celebrate them too – so thanks to some generous sponsors, we’re able to say thank you along the way with a little swag for participants. Visit at least 5 sites, bring your stamped passport to the finale, and redeem for all-inclusive DURT swag bag plus a free ticket to the DIG Summit (October 18-19), sponsored by the City of Dallas and Baker Creek Seeds.
Since DURT runs on DIG’s volunteer crew, passports can only be picked up at the kickoff and stamps can only be redeemed at the finale – we’re not able to accommodate pickup or redemption outside of those two dates. Mark your calendars so you don’t miss either one!
The application for sites to participate is now closed, but we hope you will consider being on the Tour next year! Would love to have you join THIS YEAR in connecting with other growers and seeing their spaces! RSVP here and get your passport during the Kickoff at White Rock Lake Farmers’ Market Saturday September 26th 9am – 12pm! Register here!
*The below covers what was required to apply as a tour site.
APPLY TO PARTICIPATE
This tour celebrates local growers and cultivates the public’s connection to the local food system. If you’re an agricultural site that wants to share your work and open your space for the public to experience what you grow, apply below!
DURT is an activation that builds real, human connection in the local food system. It’s designed to increase farmer visibility while giving the public direct, hands-on access to the growers and practices behind their food. By hosting interactive on-farm experiences, DURT creates lasting relationships and strengthens both consumer and farmer buy-in to the local ag network.
As an Ag site on the tour, you can anticipate a dozen or so visitors across the course of the 3-week tour. You set the day(s) and time your space is open to host folks, as well as any features activities – a guided tour, feeding chickens, whatever fits your operation.
